MedCapture helps you keep an accurate record of all your medications. Scan a medication label with your camera and MedCapture uses on-device OCR to automatically read the drug name, dosage, and schedule — no internet connection required. All data stays on your device.
How do I add a medication? Tap “Add Medication” on the home screen, then scan your pill bottle or prescription label. MedCapture will automatically extract the medication name, dosage, and schedule for you to confirm and save.
Is my data shared with anyone? No. Your medications, photos, and scanned text are stored locally on your device and are never uploaded by MedCapture. See the Privacy Policy for the limited technical data handled by the on-device text recognition library.
How do I delete a medication? In list view, swipe left on the item and tap Delete. In tile view, long-press the item and confirm deletion.
How do I switch between list and tile view? Tap the view toggle icon in the top-right corner of the home screen.

This policy describes how the MedCapture mobile app (“MedCapture”, “the app”), developed by Yash Bhavsar, handles information.
MedCapture has no accounts, no ads, and no servers of its own. The medication information you save stays on your device. The only data that leaves your device is limited technical diagnostics sent to Google by the text recognition library the app uses, as described below.
MedCapture stores the following only on your device, in the app’s private storage:
MedCapture does not upload this information, and the developer has no access to it.
MedCapture uses your camera to scan medication labels and, if you choose, reads an image you select from your photo library. Camera frames and images are processed on your device. MedCapture does not record audio.
MedCapture reads label text using Google’s ML Kit text recognition library, which runs on your device. Your images and the recognized text are processed on-device and are not sent to Google or to the developer.
According to Google, the ML Kit library itself may send Google limited technical data for diagnostics and usage analytics, including device information (such as manufacturer, model, and OS version), app information (package name and version), a per-installation identifier, performance metrics, API configuration, event types, and error codes. Google states that this data is encrypted in transit and is not transferred to third parties. See Google’s ML Kit data disclosure and Google’s Privacy Policy.
The Send Feedback option in Settings opens a Google Form in your web browser. Using it is optional. Anything you submit there is provided directly to the developer through Google Forms and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. Please do not include personal health information in feedback.
MedCapture does not sell your data, does not show ads, does not use an advertising ID, and does not share your medication information with anyone.
If you have device backup turned on (for example, Google backup on Android or iCloud backup on iOS), your operating system may include MedCapture’s data in your own personal backups. Those backups are controlled by you and your backup provider, not by the developer.
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete an individual medication in the app, or delete everything by clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app. Because the developer does not hold your medication data, there is nothing for the developer to delete on your behalf.
MedCapture is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
MedCapture is a record-keeping tool. Text recognition can make mistakes, so always check saved details against your actual medication label and follow your healthcare provider’s instructions.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
